About First Shelbourne

Independent investment management for retirees, business owners, and families seeking clear, long-term guidance.

First Shelbourne was built on a simple idea: investment advice should be thoughtful, transparent, and aligned with the people it serves.

I am a registered investment advisor based in Commack, Long Island, and before entering this field I spent 20 years serving as a police supervisor in New York. That experience shaped the way I work today. It taught me the value of discipline, steady decision-making, and earning trust over time.

Who I Work With

My clients include civil service professionals, retirees, business owners, and families who want to make thoughtful, long-term decisions with their capital. Many are navigating retirement, an inheritance, the sale of a business, or the responsibility of managing significant assets with care.

Many of the people I work with are looking for clarity rather than complexity. They want a sound plan, a portfolio that fits their goals, and advice that is practical, understandable, and built for the real demands of life.

Investment Approach

My approach is grounded in low-cost index ETFs, selective individual stocks, and a value-oriented way of investing. I focus on building portfolios thoughtfully, keeping costs low, and staying oriented toward long-term results rather than unnecessary trading. For clients who need their portfolios to support monthly income, I build custom portfolio structures around those cash flow needs. The goal is not to push every client into the same model, but to shape an approach that matches their situation and priorities.

How I Work

I do not receive commissions, and I do not sell investment products. My role is to provide advice and portfolio management that is aligned with the interests of the client, with a focus on clear communication, thoughtful planning, and disciplined implementation.

First Shelbourne is intended to be a steady, independent resource for people who value professionalism, long-term thinking, and a more personal relationship with the person advising them.
